Presentation is everything. A mix of panache and practicality makes the “Square Beans Bowl” an attractive accent to any table. Made of Eastman Tritan™ copolyester, the house-ware piece has a fun and high-end look that can go from enhancing food presentation to a catch-all bowl for women’s accessories.
In the Japanese language, “bean bowl” means mini plates. Usually round in shape, Kunimune, a Japanese injection molding company that manufactures the stylish bowls, decided to make them square, where they can be stacked and enjoyed with a combination of 2 different looks and textures (plastic and steel).
“Tritan™ copolyester has a glass-like weight and glossy, high-end appearance compared to other clear resins,” says Mr. Masahiko Yamamoto, General Manager of Kunimune. “This gives the product a luxurious image.”
Japanese consumers also like that the bowls are hard to break, scratch resistant, and capable of being washed under hot water or in the dishwasher.
“Tritan™ copolyester has all of the clarity and grace of glass with the added benefit of durability,” says Yamamoto. “The processing ability during molding is very good, easy to use and capable of molding products with flexible design of uneven thickness up to 4.00 mm. It also has good heat resistance making the product difficult to deform.”
The versatile bowls come in a palette of fun colors: “Baby Chick,” “Seaweed”, and “Silver Mouse”. It is a part of the Japanese culture to enjoy food with your “eyes”, in addition to enjoying taste. Having the combination of color and texture of the bowls with food, consumers can enjoy a luxurious experience under a new simple lifestyle.
